2007/2008 Season

Sunday Morning

Well I was half right in that Hamilton easily qualified better then his teammate Alonso but I wasn't expecting him to go and get pole......I still think Ferrari will be tough to beat and some of the prices on Raikkonen to win it are still tempting......you can tell this as even though Hamilton is on pole his price to win is still over evens meaning that maybe he is carrying a lighter fuel load. I was tempted to have a punt on Raikkonen leading after the first lap @ 5.8 on the off chance that he is quicker out of the blocks but i'll limit this to 0.5pts mainly because if Hamilton is carring less fuel then theoretically he should be quicker away and Ferrari will overtake him when it comes to pit stops. My other bet is for Fisichella to finish in the points. The Renaults have normally been reliable this year and he has finished in the points in the this race the last 2 years in the same car so with him starting 8th on the grid already as long as he can get round I expect this bet to come in, as in the previous bet I have I'll lay him to finish the race in case it all goes wrong but if he's on the track at the end I expect him to pick up at least a point to land the bet. The British Grand Prix has very few retirements so the 1.85 for NO Saftey Car is a tempting bet also but I'll leave that one alone for now. For the first time in many many years.....I'm actually looking forward to this race!

Thursday Night

Ok so I said I wouldn't get swept away with Hamilton-mania but lets be honest it's the British Grand Prix......I was expecting a lot skinnier prices on all the patriotic bets that will be coming this weekend but when I saw the Match Bet between him and Alonso I could not believe my eyes to see he was trading at even money. Hamilton would have won this bet the last 6 times in Grand Prix's this year and with this being the track he's raced on most and of course his and McLaren's home track this is a bet to good to pass up. I'm taking this early now before the first free practice of the weekend but I'm sure I will be back Sunday morning with my final race bets but I fancy Ferrari to go well here again to be honest and after seeing what happens over the next few days may be backing both Ferrari to win again here.
