The Masters and opposing the local hero

After a superb week around the globe we turn our attention to the two main tournaments this week - men in Madrid and women in Zurich

MADRID MASTERS

Lay Ljubicic to win the tournament for 2 pts @ 10.5. This is a great bet. He's won back to back tournaments and he's a backer's friend at the moment, which is why his price is so low. The two tournmants he's just won are regular ATP events. This is a Masters Series event, with a much better field of players.

Lay Nadal for 2 pts @ 2.94 to win the tournament and back Roddick for 3 pts to win the tournament. Nadal has much the easier draw in this competition and this explains why he is so short. But, the hard court
is Roddick's best surface and taking him at more than double the price of Nadal is well worth a punt.

ZURICH OPEN

Back Davenport to win the tournament @ 2.44 for 2 pts and lay Dementieva to win the tournament @ 7.4 for 2 pts. The last time these two met was in the QF of the U.S. Open and Dementieva came out on top. This time these two will likely meet in the SF and expect Davenport to exact some revenge for that defeat with a win here. Also, Dementieva has yet to win a tournament in 2005, so taking 7.4 seems like a good bet even ignoring the fact she will likely have to face Davenport in the SF.
