Europe and the US

Four finalists and three winners out of five competitions meant a great week just gone. The only slight disappointment was that having tipped Schiavone to make the final in Hassalt we still can't understand how her price remained at 12s (all the way through from 1st round to final) and so we weren't able to lay any of that bet off before the final for a profit. Anyway, this week we have three tournaments - one for the men and two for the women (although we won't be giving many tips for the Challenge Bell event).

Advanta Championship

Nicole Vaidisova is a very promising youngster, but her price is just too short this week and we will be taking her on. The QF between her and Sharapova should be a close match, but we expect the Russian to have too much for her. We will also be opposing Sharapova this week and expect her to reach either semi or the final, but not to win the event. Her off-court acitivies have definitely had a detrimental effect on her tennis of late and although a short price we just can't see past Lindsay Davenport.

BNP Paribas Masters

Andy Roddick came good for us last week and we'll continue to back him until that changes. Ivan Ljubicic will likely have to beat James Blake, Thomas Johansson and Andy Roddick just to make the final and this is the reason we will be opposing him. His price is very short considering his first two matches are against world class opponents

Challenge Bell

This really is a terrible event and one you should probably steer clear of. Nathalie Dechy is by far and away the best player in this tournament and so our only bet of the week will be to back her to win the tournament and in doing so collect her second Sony Ericsson WTA Tour singles title.
