Final + 3rd Place Playoff
Well here we are........not many people would of tipped a France v Italy final.....I know we didn't but at least CPA has 2pts on France to win the whole thing @ 15 and Bunsen has a discounted 1pt on Italy so we have an interest already which is good. For me personally I can't see past the Italians in the final.......they played so well against a good German team and even though France have beaten some very good teams to get here I think the Italian defence will be to much for Henry and Zidane.......I hope I'm wrong as I've adopted France as a secret 2nd team thanks to the flair of their forward players so I'm hoping to see a pacy attacking final......I can't see it though but a 2-0 Italy victory looks a good price with Italy going ahead and then scoring late on to make the result certain as les bleues push forward......It's heart v head time and I'm afraid my head is going to win so I'm going for an Italian victory......However I can't leave it there and have to have something on the French. They do have a superb defence (apart from Barthez) and a 1-0 win is a good price as is the repeat scoreline from the 2000 European Championship final of 1-1.
As for the 3rd place playoff........I may not get involved in this, it has an air of a dead rubber about it even though I think the Germans will want to come 3rd and I get the impression that Portugal might not that bothered but if anything I won't be putting a bet on until I see some team news however the rest of the team are happy to get involved with some bets from both Mappy and Bunsen.
