Dropping like flies.................

Cricket has been a dirty word at Calvstar towers for some months now but I feel it is time for our luck to change.

England are in disarray with Vaughan, Trescothick and Jones all making their way home. I would be surprised if any of them plays in the three test series bearing in mind we are only just over two weeks away from the third test.

Freddie takes the reigns on a somewhat sinking ship. It’s going to be a tough ask to get anything out of this tour and our batsmen are in terrible form. Strauss can’t get it off the square, we look to be bringing in the young lad Cook from the A squad leaving a soft underbelly in Bell, Collingwood and the erratic Pieterson.

The Dehli-belly has accounted for more than one, and dare I say it could not get any worse.

Our only saviour will be to win the toss on a flat mud pitch and bat out a day and a half to give us any chance. The Indians have a strong line-up and will post a good score if they get in first.

My sources tell me the groundsman has created a lush outfield so the ball will not rough-up, therefore not helping our reverse swing game from which we have profited in recent test matches.

Finally on a lighter note the England team seem to trying to keep their spirits up and not taking things too seriously. In a recent night in the hotel the entertainment was a sports quiz. The first question was "Where do you find 11 fit Englishman?". The question still remains unanswered.

I think Calvstar has hit the nail on the head with his predictions on India winning the series convincingly but the value is in a 2-1 to India @ 13. There will be no problems with bad light like in Pakistan. Ninety overs will be bowled each day giving the best chance of a result.
