Week 10..and a half
The second part of the international week sees us looking at the England game along with the main action from the continent.....again Bunsen has the story for you
England Vs. Poland
Soldiering on regardless...........
Sven is certainly public enemy number one these days. After another woeful display against the lacklustre Austrians, we limped through to the World Cup Finals in Germany next year
A combination of shoddy refereeing and some awful play-acting resulted in the England captain getting his marching orders for the second time in his international career.
I truly believe we would have gone on and scored more with 11 men, but its just one of those things I suppose. Do we lie down and die........hell no!
England's recent failings only stirred the betting markets, with the bookies looking to entice the punter into releasing some more of the hard earned cash. In doing so they have also left themselves open to the shrewd investor and this is where we come in and clean up.
With a few changes in the side for this Wednesday's, it is worth considering the players that are coming in and will be eager to improve.
According to the press young Mr Rooney has been like a dog on a leash in the last few days. Apparently he got a kick in training on Tuesday from Peter Crouch, which is more than he did in the game against Austria.
Wayne should be fit though and pose Poland a lot more problems. I am tempted to try Frank Lampard again as he has now also taken over penalty duties. The bookies are sick of getting caned on Frank and have now pulled him into 7's or 8's, which is short for a midfielder.
This is why I am going to go for Shaun Wright-Phillips as my value pick for this week. At 17.5 he looks fantastic odds and will enjoy himself more now that Beckham is not breathing down his neck.
I am looking for England to bounce back from their recent performances and a 2-1 win at 9 is more than enough to wet the palette.
