This annual event is a bit of a joke in my opinion.....I mean it's not like they have the best muscians in Britain looking at each song to compare and contrast the way the contenders are produced, the lyrics, the vocals........but it's mainly 8-15 year old girls voting on which non-threatening boy they like this year. Previous winners have shown this in spades. I mean the leading contenders this year are Westlife, James Blunt and McFly......McFly!!!.......eh what? Anyway using my tried and trusted method of seeing how many times each of the previous names were mentioned in the last copy of Smash Hits it looks to me that McFly will win.....I'm not going to bet on who is going to win but I'll happily lay Westlife winning it as I don't think they have the fanbase anymore and can see James Blunt sneaking 2nd.......I can't believe I am betting on this competition and not even judging it on the actual song......crazy but I'll take the value here anyway
